A distinctive Provençal, absinthe-inspired spirit, Versinthe Classique was created by Liquoristerie de Provence as a modern take on the legendary herbal aperitifs of 19th-century France.
The “20 Ans” edition celebrates 20 years of Versinthe, bringing together the characteristic aromas of wormwood, anise, and Mediterranean botanicals in an intensely aromatic yet refined spirit.
At 45% ABV, it delivers considerable herbal complexity while remaining approachable when traditionally diluted with chilled water.

Versinthe was created in Provence as a contemporary the on France's great absinthe tradition.
Historically, absinthe became one of the defining drinks of late 19th-century French café culture and was famously associated with artists, writers, and the ritual of “L’Heure Verte” — The Green Hour.
Versinthe draws on that history while expressing the herbal landscape of Provence through a complex blend of aromatic plants and botanicals.
The 20 Ans bottling commemorates two decades of Versinthe and its place within the modern revival of traditional French herbal spirits.
The traditional method is the most enjoyable way to discover Versinthe.
Pour approximately:
1 part Versinthe
3–5 parts ice-cold water
Slowly add chilled water to the spirit, allowing its herbal aromas and flavors to open gradually.
For the full traditional ritual, you can also serve Versinthe with an absinthe spoon and sugar cube, slowly dripping very cold water over the sugar and into the glass.
The amount of water can be adjusted according to personal preference.
Part of the fascination of absinthe-style spirits is the ceremony surrounding their preparation.
As chilled water is slowly introduced, the spirit changes appearance, and its powerful botanical aromas begin to unfold. The transformation encourages you to enjoy the drink slowly rather than consume it as a shot.
Traditionally, this ritual marked the beginning of L’Heure Verte, the early-evening aperitif hour in France.
Versinthe is best enjoyed as an aperitif or after-dinner digestif rather than as a conventional food-pairing spirit.
As an aperitif, accompany it with olives, salted almonds, charcuterie, goat cheese, and Mediterranean-style small plates.
Its herbal character can also work beautifully after dinner alongside dark chocolate or citrus-based desserts.
One for the adventurous spirits drinker.
Versinthe offers guests an opportunity to explore one of France's most fascinating drinking traditions while discovering the complex interaction of wormwood, anise, and Provençal botanicals.
For The Tasting Room, I would strongly recommend making the serving ritual part of the experience. Present the measured Versinthe in an appropriate glass with an absinthe spoon, sugar cube, and a small carafe or fountain of ice-cold water.
It creates an engaging tableside presentation and gives guests something quite different from the conventional whisky, Cognac, or after-dinner liqueur experience.
Best Enjoyed: Traditional Absinthe Ritual • Aperitif • Digestif
