Tasting Notes

The 2019 Valbuena is a masterful expression of balance and elegance, crafted with a focus on preserving freshness and avoiding excessive ripeness. To achieve this, a gentler vinification process was employed, along with larger vats for élevage and reduced use of American oak. Composed primarily of Tinto Fino with 3% Merlot, this vintage boasts 14.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.88, and 4.6 grams of acidity.

The nose is beautifully perfumed and subtle, offering a refined aromatic profile. On the palate, the wine is exquisitely textured, with remarkably fine and silky tannins—distinctly different from other 2019 releases from the group, such as Macán and Pintia. A true triumph over the vintage’s challenges, this Valbuena delivers an unexpected level of elegance. Bottled in June 2022, it stands as a testament to precision winemaking and exceptional craftsmanship.
