VEGA SICILIA – ÚNICO 2015
Ribera del Duero, Spain
From Spain’s most revered estate, Vega Sicilia, Único 2015 is a masterclass in patience and precision—powerful yet aristocratic, shaped by a warm vintage and the house’s famously long élevage.
Tasting notes
Deep garnet with luminous highlights. The bouquet unfolds in layers of black cherry, cassis, and ripe plum, interwoven with violet, cedar, graphite, cocoa, tobacco leaf, and subtle balsamic spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied and seamless, combining concentrated dark fruit with silky, ultra-refined tannins and a remarkable sense of freshness. The finish is long, savoury, and complex, echoing mineral and spice notes.
Blend & élevage
Predominantly Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) with a small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon
Extended aging across wood (French & American oak) and bottle—often close to a decade before release
Built for balance, depth, and extraordinary longevity
Food pairing
Magnificent with roast lamb, aged beef, game, truffle-accented dishes, or aged Manchego.
Drinking window
Approachable now with generous decanting, and capable of aging gracefully for 30–40+ years, gaining nuance and tertiary complexity over time.
