From the highly regarded Montosoli area north of Montalcino, Capanna produces a traditionally styled Brunello combining structure with elegance.

The 2019 offers beautiful ripe cherry and red berries, accompanied by dried flowers, Mediterranean herbs, tobacco and spice. Fresh acidity and firm, refined tannins give the wine excellent definition and long-term potential.

Capanna has been owned by the Cencioni family since 1957, and founder Giuseppe Cencioni was among the original founders of the Brunello di Montalcino consortium.

MASTROJANNI BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2019

Castelnuovo dell’Abate · Southeastern Montalcino

Mastrojanni offers a wonderfully refined expression from the southeastern sector of Montalcino.

The 2019 combines red cherry, wild berries and dried flowers with layers of spice, herbs, earth and mineral character. There is impressive depth, but also a beautiful sense of freshness and precision.

Elegant tannins and a long, savory finish make this a sophisticated expression of Sangiovese and an exciting contrast to the other two wines in the collection.

Sant’Angelo in Colle · Southern Montalcino

One of Montalcino’s historic estates, Il Poggione brings a richer and more powerful personality to the collection.

The 2019 is generous and beautifully structured, with ripe cherry, plum and dark berries joined by violet, leather, tobacco, herbs and warm spice.

There is considerable concentration, but the freshness of the vintage and polished Sangiovese tannins provide excellent balance and impressive ageing potential.
