Napa Valley | 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Winemaker: Philippe Melka
The 2013 vintage is widely considered one of Napa Valley’s greatest modern years—long, even, and ideal for producing Cabernets of power, purity, and remarkable longevity. Roy Estate’s 2013 Cabernet exemplifies this benchmark vintage with a wine of precision, structure, and depth, crafted from the estate’s upper-parcel vineyards, where rocky, volcanic soils yield tighter, more mineral-driven fruit.
Complex and captivating, offering aromas of blackcurrant, black cherry, and blueberry, intertwined with graphite, violet, and crushed rock minerality. Secondary notes of cedar, tobacco leaf, dark chocolate, and warm spice emerge gradually, showing the wine’s layered evolution.
Full-bodied, structured, and impeccably balanced. The palate delivers concentrated flavors of cassis, ripe plum, and blackberry, supported by firm, beautifully integrated tannins typical of the 2013 vintage. Hints of espresso, licorice, smoked herbs, and toasted oak add dimension. There is a striking tension between richness and freshness, giving the wine both power and elegance.
Long, focused, and authoritative. Persistent notes of dark fruit, cocoa, graphite, and spice echo for minutes, framed by a mineral backbone and age-worthy structure.
The 2013 Roy Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a stunning, world-class Napa Cabernet—deep, structured, complex, and built for the long haul. While drinking beautifully now with a lengthy decant, it will continue to evolve gracefully for 15–20+ years.
