Winemaker Notes
Château Rauzan-Ségla
Located in the prestigious Margaux appellation of Bordeaux, Château Rauzan-Ségla holds the esteemed rank of Deuxième Cru (Second Growth) from the historic 1855 Bordeaux Classification. While its first vines were planted in 1661, the estate officially dates to 1763, when it separated from Rauzan-Gassies.
Since 1994, the property has been owned by the Wertheimer family—grandsons of Chanel founder Pierre Wertheimer—who have elevated the château’s reputation and quality. The vineyards are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc, producing wines celebrated for their combination of power and finesse, often expressing aromas of fresh red berries and violets.
