Pulenta Estate VII Gran Corte 2019 is a sophisticated expression of Mendoza’s blending tradition. Malbec provides richness and generous fruit, Cabernet Sauvignon contributes structure, Merlot adds softness, while Petit Verdot and Tannat bring colour, spice and additional depth.
Produced in limited quantities, this is a complex and polished Argentine red with the structure to develop gracefully in bottle. The 2019 vintage received 94 points from James Suckling.
The grapes were harvested by hand in March 2019 from the Pulenta family’s La Zulema Estate vineyard in Agrelo. Situated approximately 980 meters above sea level, the vineyard was planted in 1992.
The winery fermented each grape variety separately after careful selection. The finished wine matured for 12 months in French oak barrels—20% new, 40% second use, and 40% third use—allowing the oak to enhance the wine without overwhelming its fruit.
Enjoy now through 2032. Decant for approximately one hour before serving to reveal its full aromatic complexity and soften its youthful structure.
An excellent partner for grilled ribeye, beef tenderloin, braised short ribs, roasted lamb, venison or slow-cooked beef ragù. It also pairs beautifully with wild mushrooms, mature cheeses and dishes seasoned with rosemary, thyme or black pepper.
