Single Cru Barbaresco Riserva | Classical, Structured, and Beautifully Mature
Region: Barbaresco DOCG, Piedmont, Italy
Cru: Pora
Grape: 100% Nebbiolo
Style: Elegant, structured, savoury, and profoundly terroir-driven
Nose:
Deeply aromatic and beautifully evolved, opening with layers of dried rose petals, red cherry, wild strawberry, blood orange, tobacco leaf, leather, truffle, dried herbs, licorice, and sweet spice. Delicate earthy notes and floral lift add remarkable complexity, showcasing mature Nebbiolo at its most compelling.
Palate:
Refined and beautifully layered, revealing flavours of red cherry, dried raspberry, orange peel, tea leaf, tobacco, spice, truffle, and earthy minerality. Compared with some of Produttori’s firmer crus such as Montefico or Asili, Pora often delivers slightly broader texture and early charm while still maintaining classical Nebbiolo structure and precision.
Structure:
Medium to full-bodied with silky yet persistent tannins, vibrant acidity, and exceptional balance. The Pora cru, located just outside the village of Barbaresco, is known for producing wines of generosity, elegance, and approachability, while retaining excellent ageing potential. The 2008 vintage is widely regarded as a benchmark traditional year for Nebbiolo, favouring structure, freshness, and terroir transparency.
Finish:
Long, savoury, and beautifully persistent, lingering with dried flowers, tobacco, orange peel, spice, truffle, and mineral freshness. Elegant, refined, and quietly profound.
Produttori del Barbaresco “Pora” Riserva 2008 is a benchmark expression of single-vineyard Barbaresco and one of the great traditional wines of Piedmont. Produced only in outstanding vintages, Produttori’s celebrated Riserva bottlings showcase the individual personality of Barbaresco’s top crus, with each wine vinified separately to express terroir rather than winemaking influence.
The Pora vineyard is admired for producing wines with silky texture, generosity, and aromatic elegance, often slightly softer and more accessible than more austere crus while still delivering remarkable complexity and longevity.
The 2008 vintage in Piedmont delivered beautifully classical Nebbiolo—structured, fresh, and exceptionally age-worthy. Today, Pora Riserva 2008 sits in an outstanding drinking window, revealing mature tertiary complexity while retaining freshness, energy, and years of graceful evolution ahead.
The 2008 Piedmont vintage is considered one of the strongest traditional vintages of the modern era for Nebbiolo, marked by cooler growing conditions and a long ripening season.
