Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru “Morgeot” 2021**
Style:
A classic, richer-styled Chassagne Premier Cru, showing concentration, structure, and the hallmark warmth and generosity of the Morgeot climat — balanced beautifully by the freshness of the 2021 vintage.
Appearance:
Bright pale gold with light green reflections; clear and youthful.
Nose:
Elegant yet expressive. Aromas of ripe pear, yellow apple, lemon curd, and white peach unfold alongside notes of acacia blossom, honeysuckle, and subtle spice. Deeper layers reveal toasted hazelnut, vanilla, crème brûlée, and a gentle smoky minerality typical of Chassagne’s clay-limestone soils.
Palate:
Medium- to full-bodied with impressive texture. The palate delivers generous orchard fruit and citrus, supported by a creamy mid-palate and balanced by the lively acid profile of the cool 2021 vintage. The oak is refined and well-integrated, adding roundness without overshadowing the fruit. Good tension and mineral cut keep the wine focussed.
Finish:
Long, savoury, and harmonious, with lingering notes of ripe citrus, warm spice, almond, and wet stone.
Richer and more muscular than Puligny
Creamy, generous texture with refreshing lift
Classic Chassagne expression with excellent balance
