PHILIPPE GIRARD – Cuvée Silex Sancerre 2024
Loire Valley, France
Philippe Girard Cuvée Silex Sancerre 2024 is a vibrant 100% Sauvignon Blanc from the renowned Sancerre appellation in the Loire Valley. The wine is sourced from vineyards planted on silex (flint) soils, which are famous for giving Sancerre wines their distinctive minerality and smoky complexity.
Produced by the Girard family in the village of Verdigny, this cuvée highlights the character of flinty soils that define many of Sancerre’s most expressive wines. The grapes are typically hand-harvested and fermented in stainless steel, preserving purity and freshness.
Pale straw in colour with brilliant clarity. Aromas of citrus zest, green apple, gooseberry, and wet stone, with subtle hints of smoky flint and fresh herbs. The palate is crisp, mineral-driven, and vibrant, revealing flavours of lime, grapefruit, pear, and stone fruit, finishing long, fresh, and elegantly structured.
