PETER MICHAEL – L’APRÈS-MIDI SAUVIGNON BLANC
Knights Valley, Sonoma County, California
From the acclaimed Peter Michael Winery, L’Après-Midi is a benchmark New World Sauvignon Blanc—textural, layered, and impeccably balanced, inspired by the great whites of Bordeaux yet unmistakably Californian.
Tasting notes
Brilliant straw in color. Aromas of grapefruit zest, white peach, citrus blossom, and fresh herbs lift from the glass, underscored by subtle mineral and brioche tones. The palate is silky and expansive, with vibrant acidity carrying flavors of lime, pear, and stone fruit, finishing long, saline, and refined.
Style & winemaking
Predominantly Sauvignon Blanc with a touch of Sémillon
Fermented and aged in French oak (measured, never dominant)
Emphasis on texture, depth, and age-worthiness
Food pairing
Exceptional with oysters, lobster, king crab, scallops, goat cheese, or herb-driven dishes. A superb aperitif that also shines at the table.
Drinking window
Beautiful now; will evolve gracefully over 8–12 years.
