Oremus Tokaji Aszú 5 Puttonyos 2010
by Oremus Winery
One of the great sweet wines of the world, Tokaji Aszú is built on noble-rotted grapes (Botrytis) that concentrate sugar, acidity, and flavour. The 5 Puttonyos level offers a beautiful balance between richness and freshness — luxurious yet never heavy.
Made primarily from Furmint with traditional Tokaj varieties
Aszú berries individually selected for intense concentration
2010 was a cooler, high-acid vintage — producing wines with superb freshness and long ageing potential
This results in sweetness supported by vibrant structure and remarkable precision.
Nose
Apricot jam, dried peach, orange peel, acacia honey, saffron, toasted almond, gentle spice
Palate
Lusciously rich yet fresh — layers of apricot preserve, candied citrus, honey, pineapple, and subtle caramel balanced by bright acidity
Finish
Long, pure, and mouth-watering with lingering fruit, honeyed depth, and mineral tension
Beautiful now and capable of ageing gracefully for 20–30+ years, developing more nutty, toffee, and spice complexity over time.
Exceptional with:
Foie gras (a classic pairing)
Blue cheeses such as Roquefort or Gorgonzola
Fruit-based desserts and almond pastries
Crème brûlée or honeyed desserts
Even spicy Asian cuisine for contrast
Tokaji is one of the world’s original noble-rot wines (predating Sauternes)
5 Puttonyos is considered the perfect balance of richness and elegance
Oremus is among the region’s benchmark producers
Opulent yet vibrant, honeyed yet precise — Oremus Tokaji Aszú 5 Puttonyos 2010 is a world-class dessert wine with extraordinary balance and longevity. A stunning finale to fine dinners and tasting menus.
