Napa Valley, California — Bordeaux-Style Red Blend
Style:
A beautifully poised and classically structured Opus One, the 2021 vintage is defined by concentration, freshness, and precision. Despite the challenging growing season, the wine shows exceptional balance and depth, with a more restrained, age-worthy profile.
Appearance:
Deep ruby-purple with a youthful, vibrant core.
Nose:
Elegant and complex. Aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, dark cherry, and plum are layered with violet, graphite, cedar, and subtle notes of tobacco leaf, cocoa, and sweet spice. Very refined and lifted aromatics.
Palate:
Medium- to full-bodied with impressive structure. The palate delivers cassis, black cherry, and red plum, framed by firm yet polished tannins and bright acidity. Secondary notes of espresso, dark chocolate, dried herbs, and mineral nuances add depth and sophistication.
Finish:
Long, focused, and persistent, with lingering dark fruit, savoury spice, and fine tannins — clearly built for ageing.
Approximate composition:
Cabernet Sauvignon ~93%
Cabernet Franc ~4%
Merlot ~2%
Petit Verdot ~1%
