NIKOLAIHOF – Grüner Veltliner Federspiel 2023
Wachau, Austria
Nikolaihof Wachau Grüner Veltliner Federspiel 2023 is a classic expression of Austria’s flagship white grape from the historic Wachau region along the Danube. The Wachau classification “Federspiel” denotes dry wines with moderate alcohol (typically 11.5–12.5%) that balance freshness, structure, and elegance.
Nikolaihof is one of Austria’s oldest wine estates and a pioneer of biodynamic viticulture, farming its vineyards naturally for decades. The wine is typically fermented and matured in large traditional oak casks, which preserve purity while adding texture and subtle complexity.
Pale lemon in colour. Aromas of green apple, citrus zest, and fresh herbs are layered with hints of white pepper and flinty minerality. The palate is crisp, vibrant, and precise, showing flavours of pear, lemon, and stone fruit, supported by lively acidity and a clean, mineral-driven finish.
