Style
A remarkable single-vineyard Grenache from the visionary Barbier family of Clos Mogador. Although produced in the neighbouring Montsant DO, just outside Priorat, Com Tu ("Like You") is crafted with the same meticulous philosophy that made Clos Mogador one of Spain's most iconic wineries. Sourced exclusively from old-vine Garnacha grown in the high-altitude village of La Figuera, it is a wine of elegance, freshness and extraordinary purity.
Region
Montsant DO, Catalonia, Spain
Grape Variety
100% Garnacha (Grenache) from vines approximately 50–80 years old.
Nose
Beautifully perfumed with aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, red cherry and blood orange, complemented by delicate floral notes, Mediterranean herbs, white pepper and subtle hints of limestone minerality. As the wine opens, it reveals elegant nuances of dried rose petals, thyme and orange zest.
Palate
Silky, vibrant and wonderfully refined. Bright red berry fruit is layered with savoury herbs, crushed stone and delicate spice. The high-altitude vineyards and limestone-clay soils give the wine exceptional freshness and precision, while the old vines provide remarkable concentration without heaviness.
Structure
Finish
Long, elegant and mineral-driven, with lingering notes of red berries, citrus peel, aromatic herbs and a distinctive chalky freshness that defines La Figuera's unique terroir.
Com Tu is one of Spain's most exciting expressions of Garnacha. Rather than showcasing the power traditionally associated with Priorat, it highlights the finesse and elegance achievable from the cooler, higher-altitude vineyards of Montsant. Produced in very limited quantities, it beautifully reflects René Barbier's continuing pursuit of terroir-driven wines that combine authenticity, balance and extraordinary drinkability.
The 2021 vintage offered ideal conditions for producing wines of freshness, aromatic definition and balance. A portion of whole clusters was included during fermentation to enhance perfume and complexity, while gentle extraction preserved the elegance of the fruit. The result is a remarkably pure and expressive Garnacha with outstanding ageing potential.
