Produced from a single vineyard in Bolgheri, Masseto is crafted from 100% Merlot grown on its distinctive blue clay soils, which contribute to its structure, richness, and signature mineral character.
The 2018 vintage, shaped by a more moderate growing season, offers freshness, balance, and aromatic lift. Careful vinification and aging in French oak allow for a harmonious integration of fruit, tannin, and oak, resulting in a wine of finesse and longevity.
The nose is elegant and expressive, with aromas of black cherry, plum, and red berries, complemented by notes of violet, cocoa, spice, and subtle earthy nuances.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, with a silky texture and finely integrated tannins. A vibrant core of dark fruit is supported by mineral undertones and gentle spice.
The finish is long, refined, and precise, with lingering notes of fruit, freshness, and subtle oak.
