The Wine

Produced from a single vineyard in Bolgheri, Masseto is crafted from 100% Merlot grown on unique blue clay soils, which contribute to its distinctive structure, richness, and mineral complexity.

The 2011 vintage, marked by a warm growing season, delivers ripe, generous fruit and a plush texture, while careful vineyard selection and élevage in French oak preserve balance and refinement.

Tasting Notes

The nose is intense and expressive, with aromas of ripe blackberries, plum, and dark cherry, complemented by notes of chocolate, spice, tobacco, and subtle earthy nuances.

On the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety, with a rich core of dark fruit supported by smooth, integrated tannins. Layers of cocoa, espresso, and sweet spice add depth and complexity.

The finish is long, lush, and persistent, with lingering notes of fruit, spice, and refined oak.
