Giuseppe Mascarello e Figlio Monprivato 2020 is one of the most revered expressions of Barolo, produced from the historic Monprivato vineyard in Castiglione Falletto. Often considered one of the greatest single vineyards in Barolo, Monprivato is celebrated for wines that combine power, precision, and remarkable longevity.

The Wine

The Monprivato vineyard has been in the Mascarello family since the early 1900s and is planted exclusively to Nebbiolo. The wine is produced following traditional Barolo methods, with long fermentations and aging in large Slavonian oak casks, preserving the purity and structure of the fruit.

Tasting Notes

Brilliant garnet with ruby reflections. The nose reveals classic Nebbiolo aromas of rose petals, red cherry, raspberry, and dried herbs, layered with notes of tar, licorice, orange peel, and spice. On the palate the wine is elegant, structured, and deeply complex, offering flavours of wild berries, tobacco, and earthy minerality, supported by firm yet refined tannins and a long, graceful finish.
