A fresh, elegant and characterful expression of one of Piedmont’s signature white grapes, Marrone “Tre Fie” Langhe Arneis 2024 is made from 100% Arneis and combines delicate floral aromatics with ripe orchard fruit, subtle hazelnut and the grape’s characteristic gently bitter finish.
The 2024 vintage was particularly successful for Piedmont’s white varieties, with Marrone describing Arneis, Cortese and Moscato as showing excellent freshness and balanced maturity. This gives Tre Fie an appealing combination of aromatic brightness, texture and refreshing acidity.

The vineyards are characterized by predominantly calcareous soils with quartz sand, fine limestone and layers of compact grey sandstone, conditions that contribute finesse and aromatic complexity to the wine.
Nose:
Delicate and beautifully aromatic, opening with white flowers and chamomile, followed by fresh apple, ripe peach and subtle hazelnut. The fruit becomes increasingly expressive with air while retaining the understated elegance characteristic of Arneis.
Palate:
Fresh and rounded, with white peach, crisp apple and orchard fruit supported by gentle floral notes. The wine has an attractive creaminess through the mid-palate, complemented by subtle almond and hazelnut nuances.
Structure:
Medium-bodied and wonderfully balanced. Arneis naturally possesses moderate acidity, but the 2024 vintage provides excellent freshness, while maturation on the fine lees adds texture and weight without sacrificing vibrancy.
Finish:
Clean and persistent, with lingering peach, white flowers and hazelnut, finishing dry with the subtle, pleasantly bitter almond-like note traditionally associated with Arneis.
The grapes are harvested by hand, with careful selection to ensure that only optimally ripe bunches are picked. Immediately following harvest, the grapes are cooled to approximately 6°C to preserve their delicate aromatic character.
After 6–8 hours of cold skin contact, fermentation takes place in stainless steel at controlled temperatures. The wine undergoes bâtonnage and extended maturation on its fine lees before bottling under nitrogen to minimize oxidation and preserve freshness.
The name “Tre Fie” means “Three Daughters” in the Piedmontese dialect.
Gian Piero Marrone named the wine for his three daughters—Denise, Serena and Valentina—all of whom became involved in the family winery. It gives the wine a particularly personal significance within the Marrone portfolio, representing both the family’s next generation and its connection to the Langhe.
Arneis itself is one of Piedmont’s historic indigenous varieties. Once close to extinction, it was revived in the Langhe during the 1970s and has since become one of the region’s most important white grapes.
2024 was an excellent vintage for Arneis and Piedmont’s other white varieties.
The year began with an exceptionally wet winter and spring, with more than 900 mm of rainfall between February and June, replenishing water reserves after several dry seasons. Summer then became considerably drier and sunnier, providing favorable conditions for ripening the white varieties.
Marrone specifically identifies Arneis, Cortese and Moscato as highlights of the vintage, combining freshness with balanced maturity. The overall character of 2024 favors elegance, aromatic definition and drinkability rather than excessive concentration.
Marrone “Tre Fie” Langhe Arneis 2024 is a wonderfully versatile Piedmontese white—fresh enough for an aperitif, yet sufficiently textured and complex for the table.
Its combination of white flowers, chamomile, apple, peach and hazelnut, together with a gently bitter, refreshing finish, gives it considerably more personality than a simple light Italian white.
The excellent conditions for white grapes in 2024 make this a particularly attractive vintage, emphasizing the freshness and aromatic purity that suit Arneis so well.
2026–2029
Tre Fie is primarily intended to be enjoyed for its youthful freshness and aromatic character. I would favor drinking it over the next 2–3 years, when the floral, peach and apple notes are at their most expressive.
Serve well chilled but not excessively cold, ideally around 9–11°C.
One of Arneis’ strengths is its versatility at the table. Marrone recommends Tre Fie as an aperitif and with first courses, white meats and fish.
It would be excellent with grilled or roasted fish, shellfish, vitello tonnato, burrata, fresh pasta, risotto and roast chicken. Its subtle hazelnut character also makes it particularly attractive with dishes involving almonds, browned butter or gently roasted vegetables.
For a classic Piedmontese pairing, Vitello Tonnato would be an excellent choice.
PAIR WITH:
Vitello Tonnato · Burrata · Grilled Fish · Shellfish · Seafood Risotto · Fresh Pasta · Roast Chicken · Summer Vegetables
