MARCARINI BAROLO BRUNATE 2006 – Barolo DOCG

Single Cru Barolo | Classical, Structured, and Profoundly Age-Worthy

Region: Barolo DOCG, Piedmont, Italy
Cru: Brunate
Grape: 100% Nebbiolo
Style: Powerful, elegant, savoury, and exceptionally age-worthy

Tasting Profile

Nose:
Deep, expressive, and beautifully evolved, opening with layers of dried rose petals, wild strawberry, sour cherry, blood orange, tobacco leaf, truffle, forest floor, leather, licorice, tea leaf, and sweet spice. The celebrated Brunate cru reveals both perfume and power, with floral elegance intertwined with earthy depth and remarkable complexity.

Palate:
Structured and beautifully layered, revealing flavours of red cherry, dried raspberry, orange peel, tobacco, black tea, spice, truffle, savoury herbs, and earthy minerality. Richly textured for Nebbiolo, the palate combines mature tertiary complexity with freshness and tension. Compared with softer Barolo crus, Brunate delivers greater concentration and depth while retaining remarkable refinement.

Structure:
Medium to full-bodied with firm yet beautifully integrated tannins, vibrant acidity, and exceptional balance. Marcarini is one of Barolo’s historic traditional producers, known for long macerations and ageing in large Slavonian oak botti, preserving vineyard expression and classical Barolo character. The 2006 vintage is widely regarded as a benchmark traditional year for Barolo, producing wines of remarkable structure, freshness, and longevity.

Finish:
Long, savoury, and beautifully persistent, lingering with dried flowers, tobacco, truffle, spice, orange peel, and mineral complexity. Noble, layered, and deeply satisfying.
