LES PALLIÈRES – “Racines” Gigondas 2022
Rhône Valley, France
Domaine Les Pallières Racines Gigondas 2022 is a beautifully structured red from the hills of Gigondas, an appellation renowned for powerful yet elegant wines dominated by Grenache. Domaine Les Pallières is a historic estate now run by the Brunier family of Château de Beaucastel together with the Perrin family.
The “Racines” cuvée is produced from hillside vineyards planted on limestone and clay soils beneath the Dentelles de Montmirail. The blend is largely Grenache with Syrah and Mourvèdre, creating a wine that combines depth, spice, and Mediterranean character.
Deep ruby in colour. Aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and plum mingle with notes of garrigue herbs, black pepper, licorice, and warm spice. The palate is rich and layered, showing flavours of ripe dark fruit, cocoa, and dried herbs, supported by firm but polished tannins and a long, savory finish.
