Right Bank Bordeaux
Blend: Predominantly Merlot with Cabernet Franc
Style: Plush, elegant, and beautifully balanced
Appearance:
Deep ruby-garnet with a vibrant, youthful core.
Nose:
Expressive and inviting, showing ripe black cherry, plum, and blackberry, layered with notes of violet, cocoa, sweet spice, and a touch of cedar and graphite. Subtle hints of truffle and tobacco emerge with air.
Palate:
Medium- to full-bodied with a generous, silky texture. The palate delivers ripe red and black fruit, supported by fine, velvety tannins and well-integrated acidity. Merlot brings roundness and depth, while Cabernet Franc adds freshness, lift, and aromatic precision. The wine is polished and harmonious, without excess weight.
Finish:
Smooth, elegant, and lingering, with notes of dark fruit, gentle spice, and refined tannin.
An outstanding Right Bank vintage marked by excellent ripeness, balance, and structure. In Saint-Émilion, 2016 produced wines of both approachability and ageing potential, and La Carré captures this beautifully.
