JEAN-MARC MILLOT – Échézeaux Grand Cru 2023
Burgundy, France
Domaine Jean‑Marc Millot Échézeaux Grand Cru 2023 is a refined Pinot Noir from the Grand Cru vineyards of Échézeaux in the Côte de Nuits, one of Burgundy’s most prestigious terroirs. The wine reflects the domaine’s style of precision, purity of fruit, and elegant structure.
The cuvée is produced from several small plots within the Échézeaux Grand Cru, including Échézeaux-du-Dessus and Les Poulaillères, combining depth, finesse, and aromatic complexity. The wine is typically matured in French oak barrels for around 16 months, giving texture while preserving the expression of the terroir.
Deep ruby in colour. Aromas of cherry, raspberry, and redcurrant mingle with notes of spice, black tea, and subtle earthiness. The palate is silky yet structured, with layers of red berries, plum, and mineral nuances, supported by fine tannins and vibrant acidity, leading to a long, elegant finish.
100% Pinot Noir
Grand Cru – Échézeaux, Côte de Nuits
From vines averaging around 60 years old
Aged in French oak barrels (approx. 30% new)
Excellent with roast duck, pigeon, beef tenderloin, truffle dishes, or aged Burgundian cheeses such as Époisses.
While approachable with decanting, this Grand Cru will show its best from around 2029 onward and can age well into the 2030s and beyond.
If you’d like, I can also prepare a very short 1-line “wine list style” description (similar to what you use in your restaurant wine list) so it fits neatly under the Burgundy section of your menu.
