The Wine

Produced from old vines planted in 1912, Mount Edelstone is one of Australia’s most historic single-vineyard Shiraz sites. The high-altitude Eden Valley terroir contributes freshness, structure, and aromatic complexity.

The 2015 vintage, shaped by warm and favourable conditions, delivers ripeness and concentration while maintaining finesse and balance. Careful maturation in French oak enhances depth and refinement without overpowering the fruit.

Tasting Notes

The nose is complex and lifted, with aromas of blackberry, plum, and dark cherry, complemented by notes of spice, sage, pepper, and subtle earthy nuances.

On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, with a refined structure and silky tannins. A core of dark fruit is supported by layers of spice, cocoa, and mineral undertones.

A very profound sage note here with wild brambleberries, bay leaf and subtle oak influence, cast across a green-peppercorn and mint-tea nuance with such bright red berries and plums. The palate has a super plush and elegant shape and fine, velvety-tannin texture with plush, long red plums. Such poise and elegance with length and concentration here. An exceptional vintage for Mount Edelstone. Drink or hold.
