Barossa Valley & Eden Valley, South Australia, Australia
Henschke Keyneton Euphonium 2017 is a harmonious and expressive Rhône-style blend, offering richness, balance, and refined structure, inspired by the estate’s historic winemaking traditions.
Named after the Henschke family’s brass band heritage, “Euphonium” reflects a blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc sourced from both Barossa Valley and Eden Valley vineyards.
The 2017 vintage, shaped by a cooler growing season, delivers freshness, elegance, and aromatic lift, while maintaining depth and concentration. Maturation in seasoned French oak allows the wine to develop complexity without overshadowing the fruit.
The nose is aromatic and layered, with notes of blackberry, plum, and blackcurrant, complemented by hints of spice, dried herbs, cedar, and subtle floral nuances.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, with a smooth, integrated texture. A core of dark fruit is supported by fine tannins, with nuances of cocoa, spice, and earthy undertones adding depth.
The finish is long and balanced, with lingering notes of fruit, spice, and gentle oak.
