Eden Valley, South Australia, Australia
Henschke Hill of Grace 2013 is one of Australia’s most iconic and revered wines, a profound expression of single-vineyard Shiraz, combining power, elegance, and extraordinary longevity.
Produced from pre-phylloxera vines planted in the 1860s in the Eden Valley, Hill of Grace is crafted from 100% Shiraz grown on ancient soils surrounding the historic Gnadenberg Church. This unique terroir yields wines of remarkable concentration, finesse, and complexity.
The 2013 vintage, shaped by a warm and dry growing season, produced small berries with intense flavour and structure. Careful maturation in French oak enhances depth and refinement while preserving the purity of fruit.
The nose is deep and complex, with aromas of blackberry, plum, and dark cherry, layered with notes of spice, sage, pepper, and subtle earthy nuances.
On the palate, it is full-bodied yet beautifully balanced, with a core of rich dark fruit supported by fine, velvety tannins and vibrant acidity. Hints of cocoa, licorice, and mineral undertones add depth and sophistication.
The finish is exceptionally long and elegant, with lingering notes of fruit, spice, and refined oak.
