An intense and beautifully layered bouquet opens with aromas of red plum, blackcurrant and ripe blackberry, complemented by elegant floral notes. Layers of sweet tobacco, liquorice root, graphite, Mediterranean herbs and subtle cedar unfold with time in the glass, creating remarkable aromatic complexity.
Palate
Full-bodied yet remarkably refined, the palate is silky, savoury and impeccably balanced. Concentrated dark fruit flavours are framed by polished tannins and vibrant acidity, while notes of cocoa, espresso, graphite and sweet spice add depth and sophistication. The higher proportion of Cabernet Franc in this vintage contributes freshness, elegance and aromatic lift.

Guado al Tasso is widely regarded as one of the benchmark wines of Bolgheri and one of Italy's greatest collectible reds. The 2022 vintage combines concentration with elegance, displaying remarkable finesse despite the warm, dry growing season. Rich yet poised, it is a wine that offers immediate pleasure while promising decades of graceful evolution.
The 2022 growing season was marked by prolonged drought from late winter through much of the summer. Timely rainfall in mid-August proved crucial, allowing the vines to complete ripening under ideal conditions. The result was perfectly healthy fruit with excellent balance between ripeness, freshness and acidity. Merlot was harvested in early September, followed by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon later in the month.
