Anderson Valley, Mendocino County, California
Style:
An elegant yet powerful single-vineyard Pinot Noir, Gowan Creek is Goldeneye’s most expressive bottling. It showcases the depth, structure, and cool-climate finesse that define Anderson Valley at its best.
Appearance:
Deep ruby with garnet highlights.
Nose:
Complex and layered, revealing black cherry, wild strawberry, and raspberry compote, lifted by rose petal, violets, and subtle forest floor notes. Accents of baking spice, cedar, vanilla, and a hint of cola reflect judicious French oak ageing.
Palate:
Medium- to full-bodied with a silky yet structured mouthfeel. Flavours of ripe cherry, cranberry, and dark berry are framed by fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity. Nuances of clove, black tea, cocoa, and minerality add depth and sophistication.
Finish:
Long, refined, and persistent, with lingering red fruit, gentle spice, and an elegant mineral line.
Sourced from the Gowan Creek Vineyard, one of Anderson Valley’s benchmark sites
Cool temperatures and long hang time yield concentration without heaviness
Low yields contribute to intensity and age-worthiness
