Côte de Beaune, Burgundy — Chardonnay
Style:
One of Puligny-Montrachet’s most celebrated Premier Cru vineyards, Les Folatières is renowned for producing wines of depth, finesse, and mineral precision. The 2023 vintage highlights harmony, aromatic lift, and refined structure.
Appearance:
Bright pale gold with green highlights.
Nose:
Expressive and refined, offering aromas of white peach, pear, and citrus zest, layered with white flowers, crushed limestone, and subtle notes of hazelnut, almond, and gentle vanilla from well-integrated oak.
Palate:
Medium- to full-bodied with a silky, polished texture. Flavours of ripe orchard fruit, lemon oil, and stone fruit are supported by vibrant acidity and a chalky mineral backbone. The wine is expansive yet precise, with excellent balance and energy.
Finish:
Long, elegant, and mineral-driven, with lingering notes of citrus, almond, and a delicate saline freshness.
A generous yet balanced vintage delivering purity of fruit, approachability, and freshness, while retaining the structure for graceful ageing.
2025–2042
Charming in youth with light aeration; will evolve beautifully with bottle age.
Pairs beautifully with:
Lobster or langoustine
Seared scallops
Grilled or poached fish
Roast poultry
Cream-based dishes and fine cheeses
A benchmark expression of Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru — elegant, mineral, and deeply expressive, combining immediate appeal with long-term potential.
