Gaja Langhe Conteisa 2015
Langhe (La Morra – Cerequio Vineyard), Piedmont, Italy
Produced by the iconic Gaja, Conteisa is a single-vineyard Nebbiolo sourced from the prestigious Cerequio cru in La Morra. While classified as Langhe Nebbiolo, Conteisa is very much Barolo in spirit—powerful, layered, and built for long ageing, reflecting Gaja’s signature precision and authority.
A refined yet commanding Nebbiolo, combining the aromatic elegance of La Morra with structure, depth, and exceptional longevity. Polished, complex, and unmistakably serious.
Appearance:
Deep garnet with youthful ruby highlights and slight brick tones at the rim.
Nose:
Elegant and expressive. Aromas of rose petal, dried cherry, raspberry, and red plum are layered with notes of licorice, orange peel, tobacco, truffle, and subtle sweet spice.
Palate:
Full-bodied and structured, yet remarkably poised. Flavours of sour cherry, cranberry, and red plum are supported by firm, finely grained tannins and vibrant acidity. Savoury nuances of leather, anise, earth, and mineral tones add depth and complexity.
Finish:
Long, precise, and beautifully persistent, with lingering red fruit, spice, and a classic Nebbiolo savoury edge.
A warm, generous vintage in Piedmont, producing wines with ripe fruit, supple textures, and immediate charm, while still maintaining structure and balance. Conteisa 2015 combines approachability with serious ageing potential.
