GAJA – Dagromis Barolo 2020
Piedmont, Italy
Gaja Dagromis Barolo 2020 is a refined and classic expression of Nebbiolo, produced from vineyards in La Morra and Serralunga d’Alba, two of the most important villages in the Barolo appellation. The wine balances the elegance of La Morra with the structure and depth of Serralunga, creating a Barolo of precision, complexity, and aging potential.
The Wine
Dagromis takes its name from the historic Gromis family, whose vineyards were acquired by the Gaja family in the 1990s. Grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel and the wine is aged 12 months in barriques followed by 12 months in large oak casks, allowing the wine to gain complexity while preserving the purity of Nebbiolo.
Tasting Notes
Garnet red in colour. The bouquet reveals violet, rose petals, cherry, and raspberry, layered with hints of licorice, dried herbs, spice, and earthy notes. On the palate it is elegant yet structured, with refined tannins, vibrant acidity, and flavours of red berries, plum, tobacco, and subtle leather, finishing long and balanced.
