Winemaker Notes
The 2023 Far Niente Chardonnay embodies the hallmark style of Napa Valley elegance and balance. Crafted from 100% Chardonnay sourced from select vineyards in Coombsville and Carneros, it opens with vibrant aromas of citrus blossom, honeydew melon, and ripe nectarine.
Fermented and aged sur lie in French oak barrels, 45% of which are new, the wine develops a silky texture and layered complexity while retaining remarkable freshness. Malolactic fermentation was intentionally prevented to preserve the wine’s natural acidity and crisp structure.
On the palate, notes of lemon zest, pear, and subtle tropical fruit glide over a core of minerality, with delicate hints of toasted oak and vanilla adding depth. The finish is long, clean, and beautifully balanced, showcasing both richness and refinement — a classic expression of Far Niente Chardonnay.
