An iconic Italian white and one of Alto Adige's most celebrated wines. First produced in 2000, Beyond the Clouds was Alto Adige's original "white super cuvée"—a luxurious blend created from the finest parcels of each vintage, with Chardonnay forming the backbone alongside a selection of other premium white varieties. It is widely regarded as the flagship wine of the Elena Walch estate.

Nose
A wonderfully complex bouquet of ripe pineapple, white peach, citrus blossom, rose petals, acacia flowers, and delicate exotic fruit, layered with subtle notes of vanilla, toasted hazelnut, and fine oak. As the wine opens, hints of honey, flint, and alpine herbs emerge, adding remarkable depth.
Palate
Rich, creamy, and beautifully textured, yet remarkably fresh and precise. Vibrant flavors of orchard fruit, citrus, pineapple, and stone fruit are complemented by elegant minerality and perfectly integrated French oak. The wine displays exceptional balance between concentration, freshness, and finesse.

Exceptionally long and harmonious, leaving lingering notes of citrus, white flowers, toasted almonds and delicate spice, carried by an elegant mineral freshness.

The 2022 vintage benefited from excellent growing conditions, allowing slow and even ripening of the grapes. The result is a wine of exceptional aromatic intensity, concentration and freshness, beautifully expressing both the vintage and Alto Adige's unique mountain terroir.

Although already captivating in its youth, Beyond the Clouds will continue to develop additional complexity over the next decade or more.
