Winemakers Notes
Château Poujeaux
A benchmark Cru Bourgeois estate in Moulis-en-Médoc, Château Poujeaux has been owned by the Theil family since 1921 and is renowned for producing wines of Grand Cru Classé quality. Its vineyards, planted to 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot, sit on the gravelly slopes of Grand-Poujeaux. The 2019 vintage reveals notes of espresso, black pepper, chocolate-covered blackberries, and currants, with the estate’s signature balance and depth.
