Pauillac, Bordeaux — First Growth
Blend: Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and Cabernet Franc
Style: Opulent, powerful, and luxurious
Appearance:
Deep, inky garnet with a youthful, almost opaque core.
Nose:
Extraordinarily expressive and seductive. Intense aromas of blackcurrant, cassis liqueur, and blackberry are layered with cedar, graphite, cigar box, and opulent notes of dark chocolate, espresso, vanilla, and sweet spice. Hints of violet and incense add lift and complexity.
Palate:
Full-bodied, rich, and mouth-filling, with remarkable polish. Waves of ripe black fruit, plum, and black cherry glide across the palate, supported by velvety, perfectly integrated tannins and balanced acidity. Secondary notes of cocoa, mocha, tobacco, and savory oak add depth without heaviness.
Finish:
Exceptionally long, lush, and resonant, with lingering notes of cassis, dark chocolate, spice, and refined oak.
A legendary Bordeaux vintage marked by ideal ripeness, warmth, and balance. The 2009 Mouton Rothschild is generous and hedonistic, yet impeccably structured for long-term ageing.
