Nose:
Deep, intensely expressive, and beautifully Pauillac in character, opening with layers of blackcurrant, cassis, blackberry, graphite, cigar box, cedar, tobacco leaf, pencil shavings, loamy earth, violets, and dark spice. Signature Lynch-Bages notes of crème de cassis, smoke, graphite, and spring flowers emerge beautifully with aeration, giving the wine remarkable aromatic complexity and refinement.

Palate:
Full-bodied, concentrated, and impeccably layered, revealing flavours of blackberry, cassis, dark cherry, licorice, graphite, espresso, cedar, tobacco, and mineral freshness. Monumental in scale yet remarkably precise, the palate balances immense richness with freshness and tension. Compared with the richer and more approachable 2009 vintage, the 2010 is more structured, brooding, and classically proportioned.

Structure:
Full-bodied with towering yet beautifully refined tannins, vibrant acidity, and extraordinary concentration. The 2010 vintage is widely regarded as one of the greatest wines ever produced at Château Lynch-Bages and among the standout wines of modern Bordeaux. Aged for approximately 15 months in French oak (around 70% new oak), the wine combines tremendous Pauillac power with remarkable precision and balance. Frequently described as brooding, backward in youth, and built for decades of evolution.
