Saint-Estèphe, Bordeaux — 4ème Grand Cru Classé
Blend: Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Cabernet Franc & Petit Verdot
Style: Structured, polished, and warmly expressive
Appearance:
Deep ruby-garnet with a dense, youthful core.
Nose:
Expressive and inviting. Aromas of blackcurrant, cassis, and ripe blackberry are layered with classic Saint-Estèphe notes of cedar, graphite, and cigar box, alongside hints of dark chocolate, espresso, and gentle sweet spice.
Palate:
Medium- to full-bodied with excellent structure and balance. The palate shows ripe black fruit, plum, and black cherry, supported by firm yet well-polished tannins and fresh acidity. The warmth of the 2015 vintage brings roundness and generosity while maintaining Saint-Estèphe’s hallmark backbone and savoury edge.
Finish:
Long, smooth, and structured, with lingering notes of cassis, tobacco, and refined oak.
An excellent Bordeaux vintage defined by ripeness, balance, and approachability. At Lafon-Rochet, 2015 offers a slightly more generous and open style compared to cooler years, while still retaining its classic Left Bank structure.
