Pomerol, Bordeaux, France
Château La Pointe 2016 in Magnum is a beautifully balanced and refined expression of Pomerol, combining richness, elegance, and structure, with added finesse from large-format aging.
Situated on the gravel and clay soils of Pomerol, Château La Pointe produces wines that highlight both the plushness of Merlot and the structure brought by Cabernet Franc. The 2016 vintage—widely regarded as exceptional—offers precision, depth, and remarkable balance.
Aged in French oak, the wine develops complexity and texture while preserving the purity of fruit. The Magnum format (1.5L) allows for slower, more graceful aging, enhancing both freshness and aromatic evolution.
The nose is expressive and layered, with aromas of black cherry, plum, and blackberry, complemented by notes of violet, cedar, spice, and subtle earthiness.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, with a silky texture and well-integrated tannins. A rich core of dark fruit is supported by hints of cocoa, spice, and mineral undertones.
The finish is long and elegant, with lingering notes of fruit, spice, and refined oak.
