CHÂTEAU D’YQUEM – Sauternes 2013 (375 ml)
Sauternes, Bordeaux, France
Château d'Yquem 2013 is one of the world’s most legendary sweet wines, produced in the historic Sauternes region of Bordeaux. Château d’Yquem is the only estate ever classified as Premier Cru Supérieur in the famous 1855 Bordeaux Classification, a recognition of its exceptional quality.
Crafted from carefully selected grapes affected by noble rot (Botrytis cinerea), the wine is made primarily from Sémillon with a portion of Sauvignon Blanc. The grapes are harvested in multiple passes through the vineyard, selecting only perfectly botrytised berries.
Brilliant golden amber in colour. The nose reveals aromas of apricot, honey, orange marmalade, and tropical fruit, layered with notes of vanilla, saffron, toasted almond, and caramel. The palate is rich, opulent, and perfectly balanced, with remarkable freshness supporting flavours of candied citrus, peach, and honey, finishing long, complex, and luxurious.
Blend of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc
Produced using botrytised grapes (noble rot)
Aged in French oak barrels
Presented here in half-bottle (375 ml)
Exceptional with foie gras, blue cheeses, fruit-based desserts, crème brûlée, and almond pastries. It can also be enjoyed on its own as a meditation wine.
Already extraordinary but capable of aging 40–60 years or more, developing deeper notes of caramel, spice, and dried fruit over time.
