Moulis-en-Médoc, Bordeaux, France
Château Chasse-Spleen 2000 in Double Magnum is a magnificent and mature expression of this esteemed Médoc estate, elevated by both an exceptional vintage and the grandeur of large-format aging.
Situated in Moulis-en-Médoc, Château Chasse-Spleen is renowned for producing wines of structure, depth, and classic Left Bank character. The blend is typically dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot and Petit Verdot.
The 2000 vintage, one of Bordeaux’s most celebrated years, offers outstanding concentration, balance, and longevity. Aging in a Double Magnum (3L) format allows the wine to mature more slowly and gracefully, preserving freshness while enhancing complexity over time.
The nose is complex and evolved, with aromas of blackcurrant, dried plum, and cassis, layered with notes of cedar, tobacco, leather, and earthy nuances.
On the palate, it is full-bodied and harmonious, with softened, integrated tannins and a rich core of dark fruit. Secondary notes of spice, graphite, and forest floor add depth and sophistication.
The finish is long, elegant, and persistent, with lingering notes of mature fruit, spice, and refined oak.
