Toscana IGT, Tuscany, Italy
Castello di Ama L’Apparita 2008 in Double Magnum is a rare and extraordinary expression of pure Merlot, combining elegance, depth, and remarkable aging potential, further enhanced by the grandeur of large-format maturation.
Produced from a single vineyard in the hills of Gaiole in Chianti, L’Apparita was one of Tuscany’s pioneering 100% Merlot wines and remains one of Italy’s most iconic single-varietal expressions.
The 2008 vintage, marked by balance and finesse, delivers structure, freshness, and refined complexity. Aging in French oak barrels enhances the wine’s depth and texture, while the Double Magnum format (3L) allows for slower, more graceful evolution, preserving vibrancy and extending longevity.
The nose is complex and mature, with aromas of black cherry, plum, and cassis, layered with notes of tobacco, cedar, spice, and earthy nuances.
On the palate, it is full-bodied and refined, with a silky texture and well-integrated tannins. A core of dark fruit is complemented by hints of cocoa, leather, and mineral undertones.
The finish is long, elegant, and persistent, with lingering notes of fruit, spice, and evolved complexity.
