Black Tot – Last Consignment
A true piece of rum history and one of the most collectible releases of modern times.
What it is
Black Tot Last Consignment is a blend created from the final remaining stocks of British Royal Navy rum, drawn from the original flagons held after the daily naval ration ended on 31 July 1970 (Black Tot Day). Once this was bottled, the liquid was gone forever.
Blend & Style
A complex blend of historic rums from Guyana, Jamaica, Trinidad, Barbados, and other former British colonies
Bottled at 54.3% ABV (Navy Strength)
No additives, no sweetening — pure, uncompromising rum
Tasting Notes
Nose: Dark molasses, treacle, leather, old oak, dried figs, clove, and pipe tobacco
Palate: Exceptionally rich and layered — blackstrap molasses, raisin, espresso, bitter chocolate, spice, and smoky oak
Finish: Long, dry, and authoritative, with lingering spice, wood, and depth
Why it matters
Finite and irreplaceable
Represents the end of a 300-year naval tradition
Revered by collectors, historians, and serious rum enthusiasts alike
How to serve
Neat, slowly, in a small tulip glass
A few drops of water can open aromatics, but it stands proudly on its own
In short
This is not just a rum — it’s liquid history. Powerful, contemplative, and profoundly rare.
