Medrano, Mendoza, Argentina
Achaval Ferrer Finca Mirador 2020 is a distinctive single-vineyard Malbec, offering a more approachable and fruit-driven expression while maintaining the precision and balance characteristic of the estate.
Sourced from old vines planted in 1921 in Medrano, this vineyard sits at a lower altitude, resulting in a wine that emphasizes generosity, softness, and immediate charm. Compared to the estate’s higher-altitude wines, Finca Mirador presents a rounder, more accessible profile.
Produced with a minimalist philosophy and aged in French oak, the wine preserves the purity of the fruit while gaining subtle complexity and structure.
The 2020 vintage delivers ripe fruit, supple tannins, and a harmonious balance between richness and freshness.
The nose is generous and expressive, with aromas of ripe plum, blackberry, and black cherry, complemented by hints of violet, spice, and subtle herbal notes.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, with a smooth, rounded texture and a core of ripe dark fruit. Soft tannins and gentle notes of chocolate, spice, and earth add depth and approachability.
The finish is long and supple, with lingering fruit and a touch of spice.
